- The 19th Human Resources Summit, organized by MCT Consultancy, will be held between 12-13 February at Lutfi Kirdar Convention Center. The Independent Women Directors Project Director, Melsa Ararat, will be a guest speaker at 'Presence of Women in the Workplace in Turkey' panel discussion on 12th February between 14.15-14.55. - De Nederlandsche Bank in Amsterdam brought together academics working on gender diversity in boards in Amsterdam. Director of Independent Women Directors Project, Melsa Ararat, spoke at the session of 'Policy alternatives to increase the number of women on boards' at the conference held on December 19 to 20.
 
- European Professional Women's Network(EPWN) in Istanbul will be launched on 20th of November at The Sofa Hotel, Teşvikiye. The honoured guest of the launch will be Marijo Bos, EPWN'S    President. Melsa Ararat, Director of Corporate Governance Forum of Turkey will give a speech in official launch of EPWN.

- Within the scope of “Independent Women Directors" Project conducted by Sabancı University Corporate Governance Forum, female directors elected to Turkey's leading publicly listed companies’ boards is introduced to the public with a meeting held on Wednesday, May 29, 2013

- The German Parliament has rejected a proposed minimum quota for female company executives.

- The Swedish Consulate extends its support to IWD Project for a second term.  

- Independent Women Director’s Advisory Board held its third meeting.  

- United Nations Women's Empowerment Principles (WEP’s) awarded SUTEKS Textile in recognition of its human-oriented business model considering gender equality.

- On International Women's Day, GBRW searchable database is opened to corporations and executive search firms around the world.

- On March 8, women in IWD Database rang the Istanbul Stock Exchange opening bell.

- Egon Zehnder organized the “Transferring Executive Skills into Boards and Effectiveness in the Board Room” meeting within scope of the Independent Women Directors Project, initiated by Sabancı University with the financial endorsement of the General Consulate of Sweden in Turkey and in strategic partnership with Egon Zehnder Turkey. The keynote speaker was Ashley Summerfield.

- The ‘Independent Women Directors’ Project initiated by Sabancı University was launched on 13 December 2012 in Conrad Hotel.

- The European Business Schools /Women on Board initiative (Global Board Ready Women -GBRW) searchable database was announced on 12/12/12, via press releases around the world.
